Micro hole drilling in tubing, shim stock and machined components are common applications where we achieve clean burr free holes to the tightest tolerances.
Materials that are thermally sensitive can be processed to extreme tolerances. The cut quality this technology provides reduces the requirements for secondary operations.
This technology excels in cutting of precious metals and nitinol with Micro Features. Processing of the popular medical polymers can also be performed efficiently with this technology. This allows Spectralytics to perform traditional tube cutting normal to the surface of the tubing as commonly done on stents and catheter shafts as well as cut true parallel walled holes and slots in orthopedic and endoscopic devices.
In heavier wall tubing this technology allows for better fit up with mating parts during assembly. Laser drilling is commonly used in many medical devices including embolic protection and drug delivery catheters. Spectralytics offers 5 wavelengths of lasers that specialize in polymer drilling for the medical device industry.
This gives us the flexibility to choose the proper wavelength for your application. Ablation, in basic terms, is the removal of material.
It may be removing the insulation from a very fine wire, without damaging the underlying material, or it can be selectively removing a coating from a device. This allows customers to create relief for marker bands, reduce the OD of a tube in a selective location, or give them the ability to have a tube collapse in a known location depending on the requirements of their device. Traditional Skiving of extrusions uses a razor blade to put a slot or cut into tubing.
With multi-lumen extrusions becoming more compact, laser skiving has become a preferred option. Is it just a preset soft synth? Nope again! You can program up custom sounds and save edited presets to a directory in the computer. So what is it then?! Its a soft synth, based on some very excellent samples, that is fully programmable that lets you save as many custom patches as you want. It is much like adding a hardware synth to your rack, except you are in the software domain.
Hehe, well, it's atmospheric; it's synthetic; it's vintage sounding, it's high quality. Many of the samples, it appears, were recorded with ambience and reverb. There are no reverb settings on the front panel. No effects engine unless it is hidden and inaccessible. The Atmospheres themselves are categorized as Ambient with 18 sub-categories , Bell Tones, Big Swells, Evolving Moods, Intricate Motions, Noises with 8 sub-categories , and "Pads" which have the sub-categories of airy, bright, Euro, flutey, brassy, glassy, hollow and pure and warm and soft.
But Atmosphere does more than just do atmospheres. There is a generous supply of Synth Basses which are well defined. Among the Synth categories are analog, brassy, digital, organ-ish, techno and more. There's a category called "Vinyl" that has record noise added to the pads. These playback in a very clean fashion with no reverb, thankfully.
I really like the acoustic string samples. There is one patch the "Hollywood Studio String Section" which is megs in size. And it sounds wonderful. I think it has the won the status of being the best string patch on my system I have thousands.
Only You EP 12". However, this year they have elected to branch out and launch their own label, Ish Chat, with this debut release showcasing Spectrasoul at their finest!
There are plenty of strands to modern drum and bass, and the four tracks on this 12", Only You, really demonstrates Spectrasoul's mastery of them.
The title track adopts a pensive, and dare we say almost poppy, take on the autonomic sound thanks to some deliciously manipulated vocals and a clear understanding of space.
The Mistress CD. They even go experimental and gnarly on the frankly quite odd "Kutchi". Shelter 12". Leaning heavily on a woozy half beat, full focus on placed on Lily's yearning, heart-torn vocals.
Remix-wise Two Inch Punch lays down a darker, barbed beats twist with a treacle-thick slo-mo stomp while Spectrasoul themselves jump on the VIP with a refix that's tailored for prime time floor flattening. The full package. Always 12". Something tells us this is the start of a whole wealth of exceptional material from the south coast duo.
We can't wait to hear the full album. Play The Fool 12". Delay No More CD. Delay No More EP double 12". Light In The Dark 12". Lost Disciple 12". Glimpse 12". Mimic 12". Subtitles Music.

Down Town Chicago 12". In a discernable change of direction from the emotive, deep sounds of their release on SGN:LTD, the a-side presents a trademark incarnation of the devastatingly effective Spectrasoul formula; a bouncy track teeming with samples that work cohesively to create a deep sense of ambience, in turn narrated by a male vocal. An upbeat bassline runs underneath some playful percussion to finish setting the scene of 'Down Town Chicago'; an accomplished track that's replete with imagery, we have a feeling you're gonna like this one.
