O" delivers. Filmed in Seattle last fall, during the comedian's city tour, the picture commits to film a one-woman show almost certain to please Cho's core fans, who will delight in her bawdy, deliberately confrontational humor. Others may find "Notorious C. O" a hit- and-miss affair, consistently amusing but not as outrageous or funny as Cho may have intended or as imaginative as one might have hoped.

The show gets off to a good start. Cho talks grimly about visiting New York's ground zero -- then shrewdly cuts to a joke, saying that her way of contributing to the war on terror was to perform sexual favors for the rescue workers.

That's a triumph of the human spirit. But the movie soon takes a wrong turn. Cho's bit about getting a "colonic irrigation" at a Los Angeles health spa goes nowhere. One comes away believing that Cho did indeed get a colonic but that she did it probably just to get material.

The high-voiced character she adopts as the colonic therapist seems unobserved and too much like the other character voices she adopts throughout the show. There are highlights.
